Terms of Use

Astro Planner — Night Sky Photo.

Last updated: April 16, 2026

1. Acceptance

By installing or using Astro Planner ("the App"), you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

2. The App

Astro Planner is an astrophotography planning tool. Most calculations (sun, moon, golden hour, Milky Way visibility) run on your device. The Aurora Tracker fetches data from NOAA's public Space Weather API. The App is provided for personal, non-commercial use as a one-time purchase on the App Store and Google Play, with no subsequent in-app purchases, no subscriptions, and no advertising.

3. Accuracy & Reliance

We make a good-faith effort to compute accurate astronomical data using established methods (Meeus algorithms, sidereal time, VIIRS satellite light pollution data, NOAA Kp index). However:

  • The App is a planning tool, not a live weather service. Cloud cover, atmospheric haze, and local conditions can prevent observation regardless of what the planner shows.
  • The Aurora Tracker depends on NOAA's data feed and forecast model, which is subject to change and revision. Aurora visibility is inherently probabilistic.
  • Light pollution tiles are sourced from a third-party (djlorenz GitHub Pages). We do not control their availability or the underlying VIIRS satellite data refresh cadence.

The App is provided as is, without warranty of any kind. We do not accept liability for missed photographs, incorrect observation windows, or any other consequence of relying on the App.

4. Permitted Use

You agree not to:

  • Reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App.
  • Use the App for any unlawful purpose.
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the App.
  • Republish or redistribute astronomical data computed by the App in commercial products without permission.

5. Intellectual Property

The App's code, design, and trade dress are the property of D2V Solutions. You receive a non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the App for personal purposes. The astronomical algorithms themselves are public-domain mathematics.

6. Privacy

We do not collect, store, or transmit your personal data on any server we operate. The app makes outbound calls to NOAA SWPC (aurora data), djlorenz GitHub Pages (light pollution tiles), and Apple/Google's standard reverse-geocoding service (city names only). See the Privacy Policyfor full detail.

7. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms; the current version always lives at this URL. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
