Privacy Policy

Flicky is built by an independent developer. This policy explains what the app does — and just as importantly, what it doesn't do — with your data.

Short version

• Flicky stores your decks, cards, and study history on your device.
• We do not run analytics, ad SDKs, crash trackers, or fingerprinting.
• We do not have a Flicky account system. There's nothing to sign up for.
• We do not sell, share, or transmit your study content to anyone.
• Purchases are handled by Apple or Google. Flicky never sees your payment details.

What Flicky stores locally

The app keeps the following on your device, in app-private storage:

• Decks and cards you create, import, or download as samples.
• Study history — review timestamps, ease ratings, intervals, and similar data used by the SM-2 spaced-repetition algorithm.
• Preferences — selected decks, theme, session settings, Pro entitlement status returned by the platform store.

This data never leaves your device unless you explicitly export it (for example, by sharing a CSV file you created).

Files you import

When you import a CSV deck, the file is read into the app and the resulting cards are stored locally. The original file is not uploaded anywhere. If you delete the deck, its cards are removed from local storage.

Text-to-speech

Flicky uses your device's built-in text-to-speech engine (iOS, Android, or macOS). Whether that engine processes text on-device or sends it to the OS vendor's servers depends on your platform and OS settings — please refer to Apple's or Google's documentation for specifics. Flicky itself does not send your card text to any Flicky-operated server.

Purchases (Flicky Pro)

In-app purchases and subscription management are handled entirely by Apple's App Store and Google Play. Flicky receives only the entitlement status ("Pro: yes/no") returned by the platform. We do not see your name, email, billing address, or payment method.

Children

Flicky is a general-audience study tool. It is not directed at children under 13 (or under 16 in the EEA/UK) and does not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has somehow provided personal data to us, contact contact@d2vsolutions.com and we will address it.

Your rights

Because Flicky stores your data locally and does not maintain server-side profiles, you can exercise the rights granted by laws like GDPR and CCPA yourself, at any time, by:

• Accessing your data — it's all visible inside the app.
• Exporting your decks via CSV (where supported).
• Deleting your data by removing decks individually, or by deleting the app, which removes all locally stored content.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we'll update the "Effective" date above and post the new version at d2vsolutions.com/flicky/legal/privacy. Material changes will also be called out in the app's release notes.
