Three modes

Built around how you actually study.

Three modes is the cap. Anything more and the picker starts to feel like a cockpit. Each one earns its place.

01 SM-2 spaced repetition

Sticky

Due cards first, sorted by how overdue they are. Up to twenty new cards per session. Self-rate after every flip — Again, Hard, Good, Easy — and Flicky schedules the next review for you.

  • · Quality buckets: 1, 3, 4, 5
  • · Algorithm tuned for forgetting
  • · Reviews logged per card
02 Random order, no memory

Shuffle

Every card in play, drawn at random, no SR state touched. For warm-ups, a five-minute drill before a meeting, or a brutal pre-test cram session.

  • · All cards eligible
  • · Doesn't update SR state
  • · Pure ordering, no rules
03 Multiple-choice recognition

Quiz

Show the term, pick from five meanings. Auto-advances 1.5s after each answer with green or red feedback. Distractors come from the active deck — never random nonsense.

  • · 5 options, one correct
  • · Distractors from the pool
  • · Logged but skips SR (recognition lies)

The method

The forgetting curve, quietly automated.

After every flip you tap one of four: Again Hard Good Easy. Flicky uses a tuned SM-2 to schedule the next time you'll see that card — sooner if you almost forgot, much later if it was easy. You stop deciding what to study. You just study.

DUE-FIRST
Sessions sort overdue cards to the front, longest-overdue first.
+20 NEW / DAY
Up to twenty fresh cards mixed in per session — no avalanche.
EASE FACTOR
Each card carries an ef (default 2.5). Hard answers lower it, Easy raises it.
REVIEWS LOGGED
Every answer is stored. Migrate to sqflite later — provider API stays the same.

Bring your own

Any deck. CSV in, knowledge out.

Three columns is all it takes — front, back, and an optional hint. The header row is optional too. Excel? Save as CSV. Google Sheets? File → Download → CSV. Done.

vocab-fr.csv 320 rows
A B C
front back hint
éphémère fleeting; short-lived from Greek ephēmeros
benchmark a reference standard surveyor's mark

The loop

Tap to flip. Swipe to rate.

Buttons if you like buttons. Directional swipes if you've got the Tinder feel. Either way: one card, one decision, one second.

Again I forgot it.
Hard I struggled.
Good I knew it, with work.
Easy I knew it cold.
Again · Hard · Good · Easy. Or just tap a button.
